With Easter not too far behind us we still have lingering candy around....some of it being those sour Warhead candies. Candy doesn't last long in our house because we are candy addicts, but we probably have Warheads left because you have to eat them in moderation since they are just so intense. The candies came in a cute little green egg with a clear top that just screamed "MAKE ME INTO A MINI DINOSAUR TERRARIUM!"  So...that is what I had to do with it.

My kiddos already had a few mini dinosaurs that needed new homes, so I just had to buy two little succulents. Only one of them fit, so the other one now has a home in my kitchen window. Now I just have to have my husband drill a few holes in the top and we're good to go!

....VOILA! The kids now have a cute little home for their dinosaurs! I had to take the picture without the plastic top because the glare was so bad. You'll just have to trust me that it is pretty darn awesome!

When we first moved into our home almost 2 years ago I found a pair of small weathered antlers hanging on the shed in our backyard. When I saw them I knew what I wanted to do with them. I pictured them hanging on my bedroom wall holding my small necklace collection...and 2 years later I am finally getting to it.

It's not like it is was a huge extravagant project, it was just one I've put on the back burner, but now I can finally get the antlers off my dresser and on to my wall....YAY!

I keep some of my bracelets on this sweet little deer bookend and I think they look pretty stinkin' cute together. Our grownup bedroom is coming together.

Just last week my very productive husband made us a real-life grownup bed. We've had our bed on a frame for the last 10 years but because of a wild hair my husband got last week to build a bed from some extra lumber we had.....we now have a BED....and actual BED! I absolutely love it.!

Now I just need to add it to my long list of things I need to paint. UGH! It just keeps growing, but I am super thankful for all my projects...even through my grumbles. I just feel like I have had a list of things to paint for 10 years...probably because I have. Every house we have owned has been a fixer upper. Our current house is the newest we've owned and was built in 1930. We love, love, love old homes and we love renovating but the work never ends....NEVER! One thing is for sure...we will never be bored.

Hello there! I thought I would start my first post with a little introduction and small explanation of what I will be doing here. My name is Carrie and I am a wife to a handsome firefighter and a mom to two wonderful kiddos. My mister is 9 and my little lady is 8. We recently moved to Lampasas, TX due to my husbands job. We could have moved in closer to Austin but we prefer the small town feel and love it here. I am a wannabe Homesteader and would love to live on some land with a large garden and farm animals. We did recently get a mini potbelly pig we named Debbie....who I am sure you will see more of around here. My son has pet allergies and she has been a great alternative for us. I will have to be okay with my pig and small garden since that is what our lot will allow us, but I still do plan on getting chickens soon!
As far as what I want to get out of this blog....I am not quite sure to be honest with you. I have always loved to create things, whether it be painting, drawing, building, sewing, gardening, designing....you name it. My dream has always been to create something to sell to generate a little more income for my family while doing something that I love. I have come up with numerous ideas large and small, but nothing has ever panned out due to busyness of life or lack of direction. I recently made some little scarf bibs for my beautiful niece and well, they turned out pretty cute and were so fun to make....

...and this is what has sparked my new endeavor. I am super excited to get creative again and use a gift and passion that I know the Lord has given me.  I love children and love creating things for them and their spaces....so I plan on focusing the things I make for children of all ages. My husband might even get involved and build a few plans of mine and you might even see a few guest posts from my children.
I was a stay-at-home mom for 8 years and would also love to share the things I have learned through the years or information I have found on raising young ones...as well as fun crafts and activities to do with them. Please visit my Pinterest page where I have already pinned a lot of fun stuff from fun activities, decorating their spaces, and even the difficult task of organizing and feeding the kiddos. You will find the link  in the sidebar.
My Etsy store will be opened by the end of April. I will be sure to announce it here and will be sharing some sneak peeks until then.
Hope y'all had a great Easter weekend...
